Qualitative
One-to-one Telephone Interviews
Only on-staff experienced individuals conduct these interviews.
We provide remote interview monitoring and recommend that clients listen in on the telephone one-to-one interviews.
We also recommend having the interviews monitored at either McGuire Research or from the client’s office. Either way, a client representative can pass notes to our moderator as the interviews are being conducted. All interviews can be audio taped and the tapes can be provided to the client.
Focus Interviews - online or by conference call
This approach employs a group conference call discussion with qualified respondents led by a moderator experienced in interviewing and focus group moderation of industry managers and technical professionals. This can also be accomplished via a hosted web conference.
We have used this technique extensively in the past and have found it to be an excellent tool for eliciting qualitative information.
Moderating Philosophy
Interactive Communication Maximizes client’s Control over the discussions
During call or hosted web conference the client will be able to communicate with the moderator directly providing the following benefits:
Opportunity to ask unscheduled questions - The client will be able to direct questions to the moderator in writing without disturbing the group.
Flow of the discussion - The client will be able to direct the moderator to move on to a new area or to continue with the current discussion.
Technical input - Any misconceptions or technical questions participants may have can be addressed immediately in an unobtrusive manner.
Focus Interviews minimizes geographic bias—respondents can be recruited from more than one city, which prevents direct competitors from being in the same group.
Minimizes “group think” by recruiting more and smaller groups.
Lower costs - no facility rental, lower co-op paid, easier to recruit, no travel required.
Quicker to implement.
